Hindi Academy gave her book
‘Vigyan Ke Mazedaar Khel’
a grant of Rs.4000 as publication
assistance.

In the year 2000, Hindi Academy
again gave her aid of Rs.7500
for publication of her book
‘Samasyaen Bachchon
Ki’.

She was the editor and complete
caretaker of children’s
magazine ‘Bal Manch’
published by Nehru Bal Samiti.

Now she is the co-editor of
a family magazine –
Jahanvi. She is looking after
it since 1995.

She has also produced and
directed many programmes for
Doordarshan and written scripts
for programmes on the same
channel.

with a social organization

Canada, England, Germany,
France, Singapore, Dubai,

China etc. Her hobbies vary
from writing to reading, photography,
painting, cooking and gardening.
Chitra Garg was born
on 8th October 1954 in a small
town of U.P. – Faridpur
in district Bareilly. She
did her schooling from S.S.K.
Inter College, Faridpur. She
passed her M.A.(English Literature)
and B. Ed. from Bareilly College,
Bareilly (Agra University,
Agra). She was known to be
a good student. She won many
prizes in cultural programmes,
handicraft competitions and
sports during her school and
college days.
During her
college days, she found her
interest in writing and started
writing for local newspapers.
To her surprise and joy, almost
all her articles got published.
This gave her the impetus
to write further on and since
then she has been very actively
involved in creative writing
on a very varied number of
subjects.
Her father
Shri Jeet Prakash Agarwal
was a very reputed and rich
business-sman who was associated
with the politics also. He
was the chairman of the municipal
board and traders association
of Faridpur. He died at an
early age. He always inspired
her to do something creative
on her own to go head. Her
mother’s name is Mrs.
Sarojini Agarwal, who is an
ideal housewife. Chitra Garg
has been living in Delhi since
1979, when she got married
to Mr. Dinesh Garg who is
a practicing advocate in Delhi
High Court. She has two children-
a daughter- Garima and a son-
Prakhar.
She
has a deep belief in God but
she doesn’t believe
in worship and show off about
it. She always fuels inspiration
from her father in every work.
